This year’s Volcano is expected to be a great success as it is the contest that has seen more pieces registered, from more agencies, production houses and other commercial communication companies, as well as the largest pre-sale of tickets to the awards ceremony ever. The Pellizco the day before is already filling the Veritas auditorium, to listen to the presentations of the international and local juries, and it is also expected to be a great success and a great contribution.
The 2006 Volcano is a contribution of ASCAP, the Costa Rican Association of Advertising Agencies, of the advertising community of the country, of Mauricio Garnier as the head of the organization of the contest, of Lilliana González, executive director of Ascap and engine of the Volcano, of the national and international jurors, of everyone. In advance we can anticipate that it will be a four-cornered hit.
At the Volcano, statuettes and awards will be won for the best creative product in the country. We will have a winning agency, an advertiser of the year, a few big Volcanoes and the Volcano of the Festival. There will be cheers, choruses, gestures of triumph, surprises, winners and losers. The night will be special, also because Teletica will be recording the event to broadcast an edition of the awards ceremony on Channel 7, a week or two weeks later.
On the night of the awards we will have a room raised to the level that our activity deserves, and in everything that corresponds to the preparations, these advance with pressure and attention to all the details. Undoubtedly, Costa Rican advertising will be able to mark a special night on December 7th.
As I have mentioned before, I am confident that it will be a night to seal a national agreement, to go for Caribes, Fiaps, Cannes, Clios, Ojos, to try to elevate our creative product in a collective effort to recover leadership in the region, improve production in every sense and propitiate the creation of a conglomerate of creative agencies, strengthened by local and international business. Such a scenario could not be better for our clients’ brands to grow, star and shine.
Volcán 2006 is coming and one week from now, we will already know who the winners were. To all, in advance, my sincere congratulations.
