Paula Guevara and Carlos Jimenez will be in Cannes for the next Festival, which starts on June 17, and will participate in the Young Creatives Film Competition, which awards the winning duo from 20 of the same number of countries. This competition, reserved for creatives under 28 years of age, also takes place in Cyber and Print.
I am especially excited about this extraordinary opportunity for Paula and Carlos, for Tribu and through them, for the young creatives of our country. They will be pioneers in this world-class arena, and will surely inspire many others in the future to pursue such options.
When we decided to look for this opportunity, we found that Costa Rica does not have a Cannes representative in the country, and for this reason, after searching for names, Bob Isherwood, Global Creative Director of Saatchi Saatchi, sent me the name of the CEO of the Festival, who kindly responded promptly and with that, we initiated the contact. We made recommendations of possible representatives, and with her, we began the road to the realization of this dream.
It did not take more than two weeks of negotiations, until last Thursday morning, I received in my email, with great excitement, the opening of the opportunity for two young creatives. In minutes we reviewed the opportunity, and it didn’t take us long to select the two creatives who will go to Cannes with me, leaving on June 15th to the south of France.
Both Paula and Carlos are full of illusion and even more, of the commitment that they assume in this wonderful opening that God gives them, and that we have only facilitated in Tribu to continue advancing in the defined direction. Personally, I sincerely believe that I could beat Paula and Carlos in joy and excitement at this fabulous opportunity.
But now, I’ll let Paula and Carlos add their comments, tell you more about what’s ahead, and how much it means to them, their families, and to all of us at Tribu. I have no doubt that there will be many creatives from our agencies who will join Carlos and Paula in this excitement, because in any case, it is a small step in the direction of our creativity towards the big stages of the world.
