Meet Diego Garcia, new General Manager at Tribu, who has arrived making his mark from day one, thinking with his heart and acting focused on establishing a long-term relationship with everyone in the company, with our customers, media, suppliers and friends. Let me tell you how he arrived.
First, we met through a reference from a mutual friend and collaborator, Marcelo Furrer, our current Associate Creative Director. Both Uruguayans had met at DDB Nicaragua, where they made their mark and built together for a couple of years, if I’m not mistaken. Perhaps, the fact that we were introduced in friendship, made it easy for us to be friends in minutes too, and as Marcelo knew well, we share dreams and illusions, and we seek as many of our readers in the blog, you among them, to raise the creative level, compete among the big ones and open lasting spaces for us. The chemistry was instantaneous and two-way, just as it is true that being fellow professionals, we were quickly in tune with each other.
After the normal process, although it ran unusually easy, the first day arrived and here came Diego, who at that time came from DDB Costa Rica, where he had coordinated McDonald’s regionally, by the way, an old account in my professional life that I remember with love… and yes, with pain too. And what do you think this guy did in his presentation to the whole Tribu? Well, he told us about himself and opened up with an affectionate account of his country, his environment, his career, and especially his family, his parents, siblings, mother-in-law, his wife, his girls, the girl at home, his dog. In short, he opened his heart and told us about his life. By connecting us with his past, his origin and trajectory, he allowed us to get to know him and value him, but especially to get close to him and make him a friend in a few minutes.
There is no doubt that Diego entered Tribu inspired by Lovemarks, ignited by the challenge and the opportunity, as well as emotionally connected to the essence of our existence. For a career professional in advertising, truth be told, Lovemarks is the answer to all our desires, and here at our place, we are committed to making Tribu the theater of our dreams. Well, Diego also came in with the idea of staying, not to try or to try, and clearly moved to inject additional value to the company in search of sustainability, as he focused on the emotional relationship and the heart-to-heart connection. So it is not surprising that he ended his presentation that day with a surprise.
In our previous meetings and interviews, I told him that one of our ideas in Tribu was related to a dog. Yes. For months we have been tossing around the idea of buying a black Labrador retriever, bringing it to live with us and making it a member of our organization. We read that in Japan they use dogs in companies to bring people together, to give them a taste of home and to provoke that family-like stimulation with the presence of the pet. And well, that’s where I threw my comment and it didn’t go any further, until the very moment when Diego presented us with his initiation gift: a black labrador dog less than two months old.
This is TRUCHO, the gift that Diego Garcia brought us and that marked his arrival to this Tribe that for so many years has required a professional of his caliber in the General Management. So for his friendship, his professionalism, his leadership and energy, for what he will bring us in what is to come, and for this Trucho of all, I want to welcome him to our company, convinced that we will move forward in filling the world with Lovemarks, in the idea of making a contribution every day, in the search for a PIC in each client and of course, in the indispensable realization of our company to consolidate as it has always done, financially robust and solid in its values.
