Suddenly there are a lot of them, but they are nothing. They sound like a bunch of hits to me. What do you think? The truth is that it makes sense to write if you are read, but more important is if what you write provokes some connection and detonates some process of change and improvement.
That’s right, the month of April found a new record with over 26,000 hits on this blog. Although the participation with comments is low, the page views have been substantial considering the simple and specific nature of this experimental space on the web.
The truth is that I love to think that here there is a sort of digital meeting point, and that some of what I think and write has some sense for a few. Although I’m sure that there are those who read my stuff and think I’m a perfect idiot, as well as those who read it and think that I must have nothing better to do. Right?
I don’t care, with all due respect. If I write, it’s because I enjoy the risk, I enjoy the edge and I’m thrilled by the adventure. I love adrenaline rushes and I always look for my own endorphins, I enjoy defeat as much as I enjoy success, although naturally, I prefer winning to losing. What I can’t stand is not doing, and that’s why I’m here, me writing and you reading. I don’t know why or what for, really. However, here we are connected for an instant.
A moment that I take the opportunity to send you a hug, to shake your hand and tell you that we are here in life just as we are leaving. That’s why it makes sense to try to make the world a little better place every day.
That’s why it’s better to turn off the light if you don’t use it, or to turn off the water while you brush your teeth. The contribution may be small, but it is a contribution. The one who feeds the hungry does as much as the one who corrects his mistakes and asks for forgiveness in his family. The important thing is not to miss the chance we always have to make a difference. I truly believe this with all my heart, and I try to do it every day, not in the absence of complexity or conflict, but always with passion and sincerity.
