There is no one who understands this blog. The statistics that the system gives me is very limited, and for this reason, I really don’t know who visits it. I guess we are a little bit of advertising friends, or suddenly, many of us don’t know each other. What is certain is that if in a single day there are more than 3,000 hits, it must be that a little more people arrive than we suppose. In the last month, the accumulated hits exceeded 70,000, and although I have no idea how many readers this means, at least it reveals that someone more than me is coming to type here.
Nevertheless, the low participation in comments is impressive, if I compare it with the blogs I visit. In other countries or cultures, participation is massive and a wide discussion is generated, forums are opened on topics of interest and opinions are added. This makes me think that either everything that is written here provokes a yawn instead of a comment, or simply, we Ticos prefer not to participate, not to say things by name, to remain anonymous or even to throw a stone and hide our hand.
My reckless bet is the second one. In general, I believe that in our country NO does not exist, MAYBE is really no, and YES is a maybe. We go around things, we don’t talk directly, in general, we are not confrontational or confrontational. In fact, I am clear of the thousand and one criticisms I am subjected to when I share my thoughts, my ideas, my feelings, my loose and free typing. I emphasize that I am not unaware of what this level of exposure implies, and for this reason, I do not want to mislead any of my detractors, since this vulnerable position does not really worry me. On the contrary, I welcome the opportunity that the closeness of my words to you offers me, and the opportunity I often have to provoke a positive reaction, to inspire with a concept, to share transformative ideas, to tell you and open up to connect.
Somehow, typing into the emptiness of a screen and watching ideas grow one keystroke at a time with each word, gives me a kind of intrigue and excitement, trepidation and pleasure. It is also true that, like everything in life, it has become easier every day, because if you want to master anything in life, practice will always be a good company. For this reason, far from being better at each article, I simply make it easier to connect my fingertips with my heart, to write what comes without overthinking it, to not allow reason to dominate and thus avoid more information. All in all, this is just a blog, not a book, not a thesis, not an editorial or anything like it.
That said, I do not want to stop saying how much I celebrate the few but very much appreciated and important participations along more than a year in this experiment on the net. To all the participants, outstanding commentators of A Fuego Lento, my sincere congratulations for the contribution or contributions made. The comments enrich, magnify and ignite, add, energize and detonate. To all those who visit this corner in the endless network of Internet sites, my reiterated invitation to participate.
