With the ASCAP Volcano just around the corner, and September 30 as the deadline to publish the pieces that will participate this year, I am pleased to tell you that we will have more judges than ever before for the next festival.
No less than 30 international judges will evaluate more than 500 pieces that will participate in the most important advertising creativity contest in our country, each one in their own place of residence and with the support of the technology that AURA INTERACTIVA is developing for this purpose. All the contesting material will be sent on DVD to each jury in their own location, and by accessing the network they will vote in ASCAP’s virtual voting center.
The selection of the participating jury will be based on the lists provided by ASCAP’s partner agencies, and with this, a balanced selection will be made between networks, areas of expertise, countries and experience. The list of those chosen for this responsibility will be published well in advance, after signing the simple code of honor that will govern their participation.
The national jury disappears with this resource, as well as the discussion that has taken place on other occasions. The winners will come out of an automatic recount by points, and with no room for more individual participation than a click, every international jury will contribute their assessments independently.
With this news, I anticipate one of the many important improvements coming for the next Volcán, with which ASCAP, the Costa Rican Association of Advertising Agencies, reiterates its commitment to the very essence of our business: creativity.
