We can already anticipate, a few steps away from finalizing key details, that for next year 2008 we will have a national contest to choose the duo that will travel to CANNES to the Young Creatives Competition, although we still don’t know if it will be in Film, Print or Cyber.
Among the requirements that we will surely confirm in a few days, each participant must be under 28 years of age for the dates of the Festival, and be part of one of the agencies associated with ASCAP. Undoubtedly, among other advantages, they will enjoy the advice and support of the pioneers in this type of competition, Paula Guevara and Carlos Jimenez of Tribu.
This new contest, organized by ASCAP, will be held in the first months of each year, with the intention of stimulating the country’s creativity. The idea is to make one more contribution towards the great stage of the world’s advertising festivals, as well as to strongly mark the course of our guild’s efforts, clearly focused on our creative essence. The goal of the YCC, of course, is to see a Costa Rican duo winning here:
In both Print and Cyber, there are Gold, Silver and Bronze lions, while in Film only one Gold is awarded.
There are surprises and new manifestations of ASCAP’s commitment to ignite and detonate. All of us on the Board of Directors and in the association are optimistic about the new advantages that we hope to confirm in a few days.
