BE, because we all have the opportunity to design and Simplify, Eliminate and Reduce. No matter where simplify overlaps with eliminate or reduce, and thus, it is irrelevant semantics as long as we focus on Simplify, Eliminate and Reduce.
BE, it’s just three letters to remember to simplify, eliminate and reduce. Just focus on BEING and the design will rise to another level, add margins and space, create slack and sensorially contribute to more and better. For those who design art, products, links, fashion, events, plans, travel, organizations, systems, weddings, buildings, dishes or life, BEING could be a positive mantra that focuses on simplifying, eliminating, reducing.
BE in design generates revolutions, as the iPod did by eliminating buttons, reducing clicks and simplifying its use. In this blog, don’t miss Maeda’s talk on the laws of simplicity. Search his last name and in an instant you are in front of one of the world’s gurus on design and simplicity, for ideas on their connection. I also recommend his book, The Laws of Simplicity.
BE. Because less is more.
