I am thrilled to share with you this video of Sirena Huang, the violin child prodigy who at the age of 11 fascinates the whole world with her talent and virtuosity. She began her violin lessons at the age of 4, and at the age of 9 she made her public debut with the Taiwan Symphony Orchestra. Extraordinary and out-of-the-ordinary, however, Sirena paid the price.
She is not only a product of her musical imagination and her fabulous gift, but also of effort, discipline, hard work, determination, and of course, sacrifice, overcoming all frustration and the end in her mind to achieve the level she has reached. Sirena Huang today is free to play the violin as she wants to, because she paid the price for that freedom. (By the way, do NOT miss her around minute 9, her words are extremely inspiring).
If we want to unleash our extraordinary talent, we have to pay the price. There are no free lunches, no free trips.
