We are one among more than 6 billion and at most we will live 100 years. Among so many people and in such a short time, is there anyone out there who is truly willing to go unnoticed? Seriously and simply, is there anyone who would rather live and die if they had not existed?
So, why do two shoes in a pair always have to be the same? Or, why does a funeral have to be boring? In any case, where is it written that a store has to be full of “merchandise”, or put in easy, why do people have to put on a church face when they go to mass or worship?
There are too many codes written and too many people willing to follow them, until a Camper, an Apple, an Abercrombie, a Wii, a Swatch, a Martin Luther King or a Bono comes along and proves that doing it differently is bigger, more effective and more exciting.
In our tiny size, when we at Tribe decided to build our space, we openly sought to make our offices look like anything but a client’s, with all due respect. We had to show them that we do what we say we do, that we have value and that whatever we invest in, we do it as we recommend it to them on a daily basis.
When we chose our mission, we did not mention shareholders, we did not include the word “better”, we did not talk about social responsibility (as it is in the DNA anyway) and for this and much more, we “fill the world with Lovemarks” from a company that is not only called but is a real Tribe, because more than a name, it is a commitment.
When we found ourselves in huge and distant dreams, we discovered that we would not reach them alone and because of this, we learned to be solidary, union, collective, directive and even contagious, because we moved from the individual vision to the collective one, and on the way, we fell in love with the idea of winning more if we all win. At the beginning and at the end, we are convinced: nothing is impossible.
We learned to let go, we turned to trust and be trusted, we decided to connect with the greater and the eternal, we sought balance and equilibrium of all our personal dimensions, to open our eyes to our transient condition and then focus on the importance of meaning and transcendence, as lofty as it may sound to those stuck at the bottom line.
Then, it is easy to recognize that there is no point in going unnoticed. Risk should be welcomed into everyone’s life, with name and face on the line, to leave behind the “bien por dicha”, the “pura vida” and the “todo tranquilo”, the sawing, the joking and the anonymity, to make room for anxiety at the base of the stomach, the biting lip, the biting lip of the mouth and the smile.mago, the bitten lip and the restless blinking, for we are not here to travel paths that others have already worn out, nor are we here to continue to let time pass without giving a resounding bell.
In brands, be it your first and last name, in life, in your professional career, in your personal life, in what you do and what you say, in the way you move your days and connect them with others, in absolutely everything, let’s move from affluence to influence, from existing to meaning, from breathing to blowing, doing it as no one had done it before.
