Congratulations to the participants and the winners. Congratulations to Lilli González and Ascap. To the Círculo de Creativos de Costa Rica, thank you for your professionalism and dedication. To the sponsoring agencies, thank you for going the extra mile. To La Nación and Teletica, thank you too, because without you the Young Lions would not be possible. Thanks to the support of Uveritas, to each and every one of those who added and supported throughout this process, thank you.
And once again, but with a dedicated paragraph, to Lilliana Gonzalez a thank you the size of the world, because she is the engine, the strength and dedication made person for advertising in Costa Rica. I am not exaggerating even for a second and I am only trying to give her the right recognition in a few brief words for now, because in due time, the country’s advertising should give her the standing ovation she deserves. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
To the Young Lions participants, I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart, because you did your best and did your best to win, to go to Cannes and live that experience. Festivals, like contests, are always a lottery, often one feels unfairly valued and there is always someone who gives an opinion with resentment or value judgments, like the old topic of the rings and the “it’s fixed”. However, with great peace and tranquility in the consciences of absolutely all the organizers and collaborators of the Young Lions, I can once again certify the transparency and normality of the entire process, jealously guarded by the Creative Circle of Costa Rica and our executive director.
It will be a great pleasure to share in Cannes, to see you participate and compete for those medals that will be at stake at the Festival itself, when you face the best talents in the world. The Costa Rican seedbed will continue to grow stronger, especially if we recognize that only four years ago the country didn’t even know that the Young Lions existed in Cannes. So Maia, Jennifer, Paula and Jason, pack your bags, there’s more excitement to come at Cannes 2009.
