A couple of hours ago concluded a new experiment with Gorileo TV, in an interview between Laura Chinchilla and Rogelio Umaña from Tribu and through the Internet, the most democratic existing audiovisual communication channel.
In an open space, with practically no production costs, supported by a robust but simple technological infrastructure, Rogelio interviewed the Liberationist pre-candidate with a simple, entertaining, varied and even funny script, to discover through this dynamic, the jovial and close personality of Laura Chinchilla, just a few days before the internal election in Liberación Nacional.
Without wanting to make more than a couple of reflections, it seems to me that national journalism has a lot to learn from this human, close, intimate and friendly approach, outside the structure of conventional television channels. Between Gorileo TV and Telenoticias, in fact, there is a gap as wide as the one between Venus and Mars, with the difference that one of the two feels more sincere, more authentic, more emotional and undoubtedly more legitimately relevant. Conventional television channels have a challenge in the minuscule dimension of the proposal made by Gorileo TV, but that shows the power of one, the democracy of full communication and the beauty of the natural.
Gorileo TV’s audience, of course, is minimal in number, although the extent of its influence remains to be seen. Early adopters, especially in technology, tend to be the ones who set trends, who are followed by others and who then propagate their tastes and preferences. In fact, it’s not hard to think that the country’s small community of twitterers will multiply their opinions after tonight’s broadcast. With this experiment, my friend and dear colleague Rogelio Umaña is scoring one more dream come true, and a learning opportunity that will only continue to add strength to the springboard that opens on the Internet.
From Laura Chinchilla simply, in a few words, standing ovation and sincere applause, because she fearlessly took aim, was fun and focused, responded in the chaos and took a risk that others would have avoided. With a lot of joy and smiles, with naturalness and out of the stiffness we have seen her in commercials or debates, Laura charmed with that one condition we expect from new politicians, and that is that they be as they are.
Congratulations to Rogelio Umaña, Gabriel Alfaro, Liz Rincón, Diego García, to all those who made this effort possible, while I smile from a distance to see the evolution of this pioneer idea in our country. The complete transmission of this interview is at https://www.gorileo.blogspot.com/.
Greetings!
