I have days of reminding myself of Zanders Rule #6, and because of this I smile, enjoy and enjoy each and every moment of the day in a way that can only be achieved when you decide not to take yourself too seriously.
At the same time, however, so that there are no misinterpretations, we work hard, grow and multiply, while preparing for the future with a strategic focus on each of the trenches we are in. Without a doubt, the future is a consequence of the decisions we make today. And these decisions are strongly influenced by our ideas, beliefs and convictions.
Smiling, according to several studies, generates endorphins and contributes to a much more positive, constructive and facilitating state of mind. In its absence, it is more possible that which hinders, flattens and even becomes contrary. Forgetting that the universe does not revolve around us, implies the possibility of coming to believe that one is in fact the epicenter. For this reason, while we try not to take ourselves too seriously, we are capable of humor, of the right proportion in success as in failure, of recognizing the most brilliant, rich and creative in others, as well as of facing failure or error with less gravity.
In all areas of life it is possible to smile, and by avoiding taking ourselves too seriously, we allow a flow of positive energy and conditions conducive to more creativity and innovation. When we allow ourselves to be a little lighter, we invite clients and collaborators to be a little lighter as well, leading relationships along a line of greater freedom and positive attitudes.
In a market like the Costa Rican one, where humor is largely absent and where a few believe that bad taste or nonsense is the creative thing to do, it is very necessary to talk about Zanders Rule #6, proposed by the author of the best-seller The Art of Possibility and an extraordinary motivational presenter. I think it is a relief when we decide to apply Rule #6, and for this reason, I remember it at this moment and decide to take it up again.
By the way, the question constantly comes up: “And what are the other 5 rules? And of course, as is appropriate and natural, it turns out that there are no more. And it doesn’t matter.
Zanders Rule #6: “Don’t take yourself too seriously.”
