We went down from 56 to 47 entries in Cannes this year, although the number of agencies participating only went from 7 to 6. At the same time, I believe that even though we have fewer pieces participating for Costa Rica, the quality and creativity of the material participating is much higher. After 7 Lions in two years, there is no doubt that we have learned at least a little.
In the statistics published by the Festival, we find Garnier BBDO with 13, jotabequ with 11, JWT Costa Rica with 10, our Tribu DDB with 7, Ogilvy with 5 and Universal McCann with 1. It would be simply wonderful if at least 3 agencies bring back Gold, Silver or Bronze Lions, and that we manage to ratify ourselves in Cannes as winners. Let’s hope so.
At Tribu DDB we have worked very hard this year and we have competed strongly in Volcán and Caribe. We have made more moderate participations in Fiap, for example, and in Cannes we have definitely focused on Six Thousand Colors. We have done great and now we are waiting for Cannes to unveil 2010 to put a cherry on top, as it is already the best in our history.
This is our only Cannes entry in 7 categories:
