In the evening we will meet for the first time all of us attending Zeitgeist, organized by Google in Scottsdale, Arizona, just minutes from Phoenix. In the meantime, I’m anxious to get started with tomorrow’s talks and presentations that the battery of exhibitors couldn’t generate more anticipation and intrigue as well.
At 8:45 a.m. tomorrow, the sessions of thisMindshift meeting will open with a focus on Opportunity. Chrystia Freeland, Ted Turner, Tom Brokaw, Mikkel Vestergaard, Nouriel Roubini and James Wolfensohn will focus on difficult times and how they offer the opportunity to solve even the most difficult problems. They will propose how to recognize those opportunities and move our businesses, companies, our countries’ economies and our world in a sustainable way. This first segment will be led by Nikesh Arora.
Over the course of the day will follow talks, proposals, discussions and conversations with a focus on Leadership, (by James Fallows, Martin Seligman, Sanjay Jha, Edgar Bronfman, Jr., Michael Fitzgerald and A.G. Lafley), then Catalysts for Leadership. Lafley), then Catalysts, (by Michael Fitzgerald, Sebastian Junger, Andrew Lakford, Paola Antonelli, Murray Gell-Mann, Michael Wesch, Eric Brewer, Cameron Sinclair and Marc Koska. The closing of the day will focus on Innovation, (by Tim O’Reilly, Jerry Yang, Steve Cousins, Thomas Tull, Ariel Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell).
In history there have been a few people who have managed to lead effectively in this demanding and constantly evolving world. What does it take to be one of these extraordinary people? At the same time, some leaders are able to create a chain reaction – how do you attract attention to the big challenges and ignite new initiatives, ideas and businesses? Humans are always ready for creativity, how can we foster creativity and innovation in ourselves and encourage it in others?
It will be a spectacular two days, which I intend to share as much as possible.
