A few days ago I came across this beautiful window. Fruit ice creams in delicious flavors and colors, presented with creativity, joy and a lot of determination, provoking a sensory experience from the first glance. Who doesn’t like ice creams? And how much better if they also seduce you like this? Well, the year has taken off and that’s how I intend to live it.
Only I haven’t yet. Today I slept until 10 o’clock in the morning, I still haven’t showered and my beard is still growing without a single intention to trim it. I’m still on vacation and although 2011 has taken off, I’m not even warming up my engines yet, although the vision is clear: to make the new year a whole new and exciting flavor. Or the improved mango one?
Mind you, it’s only January 2 and over the years, the month has been getting slower and slower. First because it’s uphill, and second because many people take it that way in our latitudes. Have you noticed?
As I can’t afford the luxury of a whole slow month, as we have a lot ahead of us, I make do and make do with a few days. The first week of January is like a rubber band for the closing of the previous year, to really start the new one around the second. Or the third. After that, there is no taking off.
We have a challenging 2011 ahead of us and we won’t have much time to rest, except what is needed to recharge and continue. For all of us in our group there are greater challenges ahead than in 2010, of this we have no doubt. Of course, completely irreverent with the environment, we will continue to be positive, optimistic and determined to move forward, grow and win. Perhaps then, we will provoke with new figures and flavors, generating experiences that we will want to repeat and consolidating the road we have traveled. In business, growing is not an option.
2011 has taken off. In a few days I will be on board.
