On Monday, June 22, 2009, in “A Fuego Lento” we published a spectacular news, because Maia Livov and Jennifer Caldwell had won a very important Silver medal, participating in Cannes Young Lions Competition.
Since we achieved the representation of Cannes for the Community (formerly Ascap), we have taken young talents to compete against the best in the world. Of the 10 duos that have done so, one has managed to win a metal: Maia Livov and Jennifer Caldwel, in those days of Tribu and Leo Burnett respectively.
Today we ask ourselves a question: who will be Costa Rica’s next winners in the Young Lions Competition: will it be in graphics, cyber or young marketers? A new festival is coming in June, and to represent Costa Rica well, we have to go and win.
I’m sure Maia and Jennifer will have advice for everyone who participates. Their work was a hit that knocked it out of the park, when they were only beaten by one other duo. At that time, Costa Rica had only participated twice before and they won with this unforgettable piece.
A new competition is coming, and for this reason, if you are among the possible contestants, I encourage you to put on your batteries of the highest voltage, to prepare yourself and to focus on achieving that pass to Cannes, sponsored by La Nación and organized by the Community.
The country’s history in Cannes has a special section written by Maia and Jennifer, which I remember today to make sure we recognize it. They were the first to win a medal, although everyone who has participated has won as well. The experience at the world’s great festival is for life, and marks an incredibly relevant beginning, because many stories begin at Cannes.
Fail to prepare, be prepared to fail. There’s no free lunch, and what’s coming up is your big break.
