Susan Weinschenk, the brain lady, is not a designer but a psychologist. She came to close the day and SXSW for me with an idea: what makes people click. And the idea is to keep people in mind when designing. She also has a book and it’s called: 100 things a designer needs to know about people.
She quoted 5 of the 100 and these were these in a presentation of about 20 minutes that gave me much more than I expected. Very good for this doctor in psychology who has specialized in providing nuts and bolts to better design with people in mind.
She elaborated extensively on each, although you will be left with homework for your own exploration of her websites and publications.
5. Most mental processing is unconscious.

“Neuro Web Design” is the name of his first book. Then came “100 things every designer needs to know about people”, and the next one is “100 things every presenter needs to know about people”.
Here a little more about Susan and the ROI in user experience.
