Last night we met Ferran Adrià, surely the most influential chef in the world. He was brought to Costa Rica by Telefónica and true to his message, they shared it.
If you are like me, who until recently knew practically nothing about this genius of innovation, I recommend millions to spend time with him, discover him, get to know him and be inspired by his ideas. Today I am a fan of Ferran Adrià and one more of his followers, particularly for his human quality, the warmth of his spirit, the passion in his life and his impressive career.
Among his most powerful ideas, he maintains that no country will emerge without haute cuisine. He firmly believes that if a couple of Tico chefs managed to stand out in the world, they could create a magnet of attraction capable of transforming Costa Rica. It is no coincidence that Adrià’s tour sponsored by Telefónica (Movistar) is called: “Together to Transform”, because indeed their joint message is spectacularly inspiring.
On the one hand, Telefónica could simply make more ads and advertise more. Yet it chooses a chef as its brand ambassador in the country of Nadal. On the other hand, Ferran Adrià closes elBulli, launches elBulliFoundation and promises to open the restaurant in 2014. It’s all innovation, courage and guts to make a difference without any room for a single doubt.
A video on the net of more than 2 minutes is an excess. And yet, I’m including his almost 1 hour presentation. If you allow me in simple, you can’t miss it. It would be very expensive to ignore Ferran Adrià or remain undiscovered as it happened to me until recently.
