If you were asked about the best thing in your life, what would you answer? If you were to die in a few minutes, would you be afraid? If you were an angel, would you jump into the world to feel your skin, the warmth of love or the taste of a pear?
We just finished “City of Angels,” having seen it about 10 or 12 years ago. It wasn’t planned and jumped in between several because we really didn’t have another movie to watch. We chose it because we remember it, and although the denouement is unforgettable, the story happened again as if it was the first time.
There are movies that will always be there, to be seen as never before and to be relived as new. This one in particular, to remind us that we should live each day as if it were a small life, because you never know when it will be the last. Suddenly you could choose to play angelic music to every sunrise and every sunset as well.
If you haven’t seen “City of Angels”, maybe it’s because you are among my younger readers. If you don’t have it in your backpack of experiences, I highly recommend it, which could mean much more than you can imagine. And if you have already seen it, as we did today at home, I invite you to enjoy it again.
Between one line and another, in the middle of the story and everything that happens, interwoven and present in every instant is God, whom we never see, although we surely feel just by stopping time and doing. Indeed, they may be old-fashioned, but I believe that angels exist.
