We are living the biggest Cannes Lions in history, with more than 32,000 entries participating, more than 10,000 delegates attending and more clients present than ever before. Yesterday I was talking to Phil Thomas, CEO of Cannes Lions, and he told me: “without a doubt it is the biggest, now we will have to wait to know if it will be the best”.
As I listen to the panel “Is Data Killing Creativity?” organized by Adobe at the Debussy, the struggle to advance, understand and grow continues in the world of creativity. With no finalists in Press in 2012, after having achieved 11 last year as a country, including a Bronze Lion for Tribu DDB, today we are once again facing the level, the demand and the current creative power in the world.
Opening spaces here is as difficult as winning a medal in the Olympics. For this reason, we are crossing our fingers for the finalists in Direct that Costa Rica and Guatemala have today, while we wait for the new lists to be published at 10 o’clock in the morning. The hours here are flying by, there is a seminar every hour, a workshop at every moment, classes, judging and everything happening with thousands of moving parts.
In the evening we will have the first of four awards of the week. In the meantime, follow or participate in Cannes with the tag #canneslions.
