Last year Tribu DDB returned from Cannes with 11 finalists and a Lion. This year we return with our suitcases empty of awards, but full of new and greater experiences. Therefore, it is time to focus on June 2013 and start working again.
It is also time to remember all that we learn from failure, from defeat, from frustration. It is time to deny ourselves the bad moment, take note and move forward with joy, for we have lived intensely the privilege of competing. So after the intensity of competition, a moment to take a deep breath is enough. What follows is simply to continue.
While Ecuador and Guatemala each picked up a Gold Lion, Puerto Rico rose with a Grand Prix on the first night of awards. There are three more awards to come this week and we will see many more inspiring cases from around the world and the region as well. Here I leave you with the case of JWT that brings gold to San Juan.
Cannes is the global gymnasium for our creative talent, just as other stages are at a regional or local level. However, the work we do for our clients’ brands is what’s really important, and we don’t ignore that for a second.
So we continue one step at a time, inspired by powerful ideas like this one from American Express, our friends at Digitas and Crispin, Porter + Bogusky.
