Write a poem. A novel. A short story. Write a song. A blog entry. An original idea. An equation. Writing a tweet. A new element. Writing is a curiosity.
I have been days with my fingertips away from the keyboard. My head, my soul, my time and my heart have been elsewhere, while I have continued in the decongestion of my life, summarizing it to what is important, to its essence and my priorities.
Writing has been for me a personal experience, informal, without pretensions or ambitions. It has only been the exercise of taking my mind to the gym and an opportunity for exposure that I have almost always enjoyed.
I have written and published through “A Fuego Lento” since 2005, first in my domain www.jorgeoller.com and later in La Nacion as well. For years I have written many business plans, strategies, letters, memos and messages, like everyone else today, on networks, on screens, on paper and only once, oh such a dare, did I write a song.
We were a group of Costa Rican citizens united by the idea we called Via Costarricense. While we were preparing the first report of the work done by thousands of people in different areas, I had the audacity to think that I could write a song for the presentation. And then, therefore, in an executive model I did.
Before I invite you to listen to it, I have several caveats to warn you. The composition, its execution, the singer’s voice and the sound engineering were superb realizations. What failed completely was the writer, a naive idealist who thought and dared to write a song.
