Although Garnier BBDO wants to repeat agency of the year and jotabeqú wants to regain that status, the truth is that next Thursday’s Volcano has no favorites, or as they say, it could be a surprise.
Personally, I think it will be difficult to beat Ogilvy and its winning pieces in Caribe, Ojo and Pregoneros, while I suppose it is possible that Tribu manages to sneak in with its most recent materials, or that this could be achieved by Publimark with its repeated winning pieces. However, I don’t think we can say it will be a Volcano with clear favorites.
We at Tribu have clear expectations for the Salat and Protecto campaign (the latter without success in Pregonero), as for Unicef Radio and Protecto as well. We are almost without any television, with some exceptions, where Osa encourages us to think of a possibility. However, we did not manage to add up enough entries to genuinely aspire to take Agency of the Year in the Volcano, although the quality and creativity is there to make us feel.
In the next Volcano, awards will be given with the judging of more than 20 creatives throughout Ibero-America, all outside Central America, and with a significant number of them independent, that is, outside the international networks of major groups in the world. In turn, with the support of Intersoft and in a simple scheme of total reliability, the data and votes are handled in total confidentiality and strict secrecy.
For the usual misconceptions, no one in ASCAP other than the Executive Board has any access to the votes, and therefore, transparency is based on a scheme of zero influence or interference. The process is based on mutual trust and at the same time, on known controls and filters to guarantee the security of the results. Having said that, I hope Tribu does wonderfully, that we take many Volcanoes with us and celebrate the work of a creative connection dedicated to die to give it all.
Being the president of ASCAP during this period, or serving the advertising community in general from that position, I don’t lose for a moment the natural desire to see my agency succeed. For this reason, in a Volcano full of very high expectations from many agencies in the country, with a clean, transparent and safe process, to my colleagues and friends in Tribu, I trust that we can see the fruit of our work well rewarded. If not, we will still have a lot to celebrate and a whole year ahead to recover.
To all our colleagues and friends in the participating agencies, sincerely and from the bottom of my heart, my best wishes as well. Next Thursday we will all win.
