I have been writing A Fuego Lento for several years. In times of greater intensity on the keys, as expected, the visits rise and the connection with readers is strengthened. At the same time, when I let go of the keyboard and stop sharing, interest drops and like a couple drifting apart, we cool down.
Likewise, when I stop sharing ideas or simple thoughts, I find that my desire to do so decreases and my intention to get closer as well. On the one hand I am attracted by the charm of discretion, while on the other hand I am seduced by writing with this immediate ease of publishing with a click.
When I have taken distant pauses in remote places, where life becomes completely analog and not even for a second digital, I rediscover all that is lost and I long to stay on that side. When Twitter, Gowalla, Foursquare, Facebook or so much more are turned on, I really enjoy the incredible community connection that had only been possible until these times.
In any case, the truth is that I’ve been in mutism for several days now and I guess that with the exception of today’s passing hiccups, I’m going to stay that way for a few days. I will be back on when I have more to add than this rambling reflection of little or no substance.
Cannes is coming, we just passed an Ignite, Volcano is just around the corner, and we’re trooping for SXSW, while the Openhouse continues its process. Gineth Soto will be climbing Everest and Maybelline Temple is looking to get a new house. In Montevideo we have a wonderful group of new friends and in Central America we are in tune. Life goes on and thankfully we continue our journey. Back here in a couple of days.
