Shortly after entering Methodist College in fifth grade, I don’t remember if it was that year or later, a high school student published his poems. I remember my surprise at his talent, and particularly his extraordinary wit with one in particular, which went something like this:
Taka tum tum tum taka taka tum.
Taka tim, taka tom, taka tom, taka taka taka.
Toko tik tak tak tuk, taka tum.
Tuki tok tok tuk te, taka tum.
Taka tum tum tum taka taka taka tum.
Who wrote this creative work, I have no idea! Is it possible to find the original text? I hope so, because although I could not recognize it as such, it must have been my first encounter in life with a product of creativity, daring and innovation. I must have been about 12 years old and since then, taka tum has resonated in my mind and heart.
So I begin the search for the author of taka tum, I will do it through the networks, this blog, by whatever means, because I want to thank him for his inspiration, his creative sample and that precious idea that has so many good possibilities to detonate in more. Taka tum could be in my memory, and maybe it was Paua mum bim bam, it doesn’t matter. What excites me most is the possibility of recognizing that a trigger went off and I have always remembered it.
Taka tum tan tan tan.
