Two lion hunters, with golds and silvers in their collection of international awards, gave us two close, intimate and inspiring talks, focused on their ideas to win and their proposals to the country to move forward.
First up was Rodolfo Borrell, General Creative Director of Pagés BBDO, the Dominican agency that this year took home a Gold Lion and a Silver Lion, among many other awards, particularly with its extraordinary work for The One, a beer with personality and relevance today. He showed us the road traveled by Pagés and his team to this year’s Lions, the first in the history of the Dominican Republic. His presentation was of great quality, with proposals made by Rodolfo with enormous respect and consideration for his audience, as well as with advice and opinions aimed at stimulating our search. His presentation was very inspiring and received unanimous applause from everyone in the Uveritas auditorium.
Next came Marco Colín, President of Leo Burnett Mexico, who showed his ability to connect with the audience with a colloquial presentation full of fine Mexican humor. He took us on a walk through ideas and concepts that lead to better work and showed us his creative contribution to achieve what was the first golden lion for Mexico. Marco was very insistent on the importance of being obsessed with the idea of Cannes, and for this, he showed us at the end the video of Paul Potts and his powerfully inspiring story. He also received a round of applause and affection from everyone.
An inspiring pinch indeed, and for this, an opportunity that only those of us who were there experienced. All those who chose not to come to Uveritas missed out on an experience that happened and will not be repeated. However, it clearly indicates that although there are many who dream, there are fewer of us who are willing to do everything to make them a reality.
