Yesterday I received from Cannes the final report with the entries by country, where I am pleased to see that we went from 13 entries in 2007 to a total of 23 in 2008, almost doubling the number of entries. This percentage increase is very well received by the contest organizers, and reflects our growing interest.

Meanwhile, Panama went from 3 to 4 entries, the Dominican Republic went from 20 to 23 and Guatemala, to cite 3 examples from the area, went from 31 to 32. Meanwhile, the Latin American monsters went from 625 to 678 in the case of Argentina, while Brazil went from 2,203 to 2,461 entries competing for Lions. In total, 28,824 entries will compete in Cannes, which is an all-time record for the Festival, and with this number, a good guide for all those who easily lose proportion and dimensions.

Our country is tiny and in the world context almost irrelevant. However, we can if we want to, and for this reason, we have no reason on the planet not to pursue and achieve world class ideas and proposals, although we may never achieve it in terms of budgets and resources.

So, without any shyness, let’s aim high.
