Today we barely arrived in Rome and in the cab to the hotel we passed in front of the Roman Colosseum, which was the backdrop for three monumental sculptures by our compatriot and friend, Jorge Jimenez Deredia. What a pride for Costa Rica and what an example for all of us!

For a little more than 30 years he has been living in Italy, where he studied sculpture and architecture, to demonstrate a talent that today is reserved for only a few. The Baptist child of his adolescence, he has become a world figure by presenting “La Ruta de La Paz” to all of Rome, the Americas and the whole world. Here is a photo of a moment we enjoyed at home a few months ago, when he dedicated a beautiful lithograph to us.

In three paragraphs only, I have seen nothing more than the works at the Colosseum and from the cab. Tomorrow I will take my camera in hand and cell phone for the twitts, the photos to the twitter and facebook and thus make known the work of Master Deredia.
