In this third entry regarding our advertising industry in Costa Rica, I bring to your screen a first and very simple proposal: let’s celebrate all the differences and since it is better to do it in a single forum, let’s coincide in Ascap.
Costa Rica has a small fraction of the planet’s territory, approximately 0.3%, and yet it hosts a little more than 3% of all existing biodiversity. The natural wealth, as we all know, became over time the main source of income by attracting millions of tourists. The protected diversity of our environment has become the main source of business as well as national pride.
Nature speaks clearly: it proposes to understand the strength in the differences and the potential that multiplies when gathered in a small space. Just as no one would think of separating Cartago and turning it into an independent republic, I believe it is not productive to separate from the association founded 50 years ago and isolate ourselves in the comfort of distance.
Could you imagine the United Nations without differences, would you think a world with everything in parity possible? In Fifa there are differences and in the IOC too, the planet lives in diversity and this is why it is immensely rich in opportunities. Couldn’t we try to follow the global example in our small local world?
As simple temporary administrators of the legacy that is ours to strengthen for future generations, we are obliged to raise the competitive level of the country and encourage the discussion of ideas. Costa Rica has to improve itself, and no one is going to do it for us. We have to be proactive, proactive, assertive and generous to achieve it. And of course, with people like me, also tolerant, please.
In the meantime, allow me to answer questions that resonate with me frequently: Could it be that we underestimate the value of differences and seek parity in excess? Could it be true that similar attract and different reject? If so, and as intelligent beings, would it not be appropriate to celebrate differences and seek the richness that nature teaches us? I think we should also ask ourselves this question: And how can I help?
At the same time, Ascap has grown with more advertising agencies, public relations agencies, media centers and digital agencies to achieve the highest number of associated companies. Here is the complete directory. The strengthening process has continued and there has been no respite in its evolution, although the absences of the moment are relevant. In fact, there is a great need to be integrated into the community… with all our differences!
For the welfare and prosperity of the country, which I imagine to be creative and winning, we are called to make a contribution and deliver tomorrow a better place than we received it from our parents. Everything we have today is a kind of concession that we have to manage responsibly, and for this reason, we are obliged to attack apathy, isolation and distance that do nothing to help our growth.
If your company is in any of the multiple dimensions of commercial communication, it should be in Ascap, because it is the most serious, formal and reliable option in the market, with more than 50 years since its foundation and currently formed by more than 20 companies. Of course, if you don’t agree, do you have a better option? If this is not a good idea, what is your proposal?
