Some time ago I discovered www.chess.com and from then on A Fuego Lento has been in constant check. The direct competition of my blog has been chess. Only turbo mega super bati reloaded by chess.com, the best thing ever invented after chess itself.

Fancy a game? You can choose to play a rapid of 2, 5, 10 or as many minutes as you want per game. Or the so-called correspondence chess with one move per x number of days, as many as you want. How about some learning? You can choose the video training options, or simply one of the more than 5 thousand tactics available. Do you want to start from scratch? There is also the option to learn with guided tutoring at the distance of a couple of clicks.

Donfer, as we affectionately called my dad, taught me to play as a child and chess has been with me ever since. From before the unbridled fever originated by Bobby Fisher, until today I confess: I have no idea who the world champion is. The chess board and the chess pieces have always been close. Just never as wonderfully recursive as the chess.com option comes to be.

The stats are great and the record you build up is complete. That said, I am now learning to take advantage of everything on this amazing place on the net. So, when it comes to available time, my blog and advertising have a tempting competitor: chess.

So… I accept challenges at chess.com! Just look for tico100, my new pseudonym (I used to use tico2much : ). Just don’t let anyone think I’m going to turn out to be a ham, I’m in the 82nd percentile today.
