DIPO Pharmaceuticals expands its products

Now the companies 3M and Nestlé join the different suppliers for the pharmaceutical company that distributes a variety of health products in more than 11 thousand points of sale throughout the country.
The world renowned companies 3M and Nestlé, join DIPO Farmacéutica with the objective of distributing their health products throughout the country.
These companies recognize the half-century trajectory of this 100% national company, which leads the market in the distribution of mass consumption products, with coverage of more than 11 thousand points of sale throughout the length and breadth of Costa Rica.
3M selected DIPO Farmacéutica to market its Nexcare brand products, such as plastic dressings, skin protectors, self-adherent bandages, special adhesive tapes for the skin, antiseptics, and band-aids for adults and children.
3M already has experience working with DIPO in the consumer sector, positioning products such as Scotch Brite in leading positions worldwide. For example, Costa Rica is the second country in the world in sales per household of dishwashing sponges.
Alejandro Mainieri, Manager of 3M commented “our company is confident that DIPO will replicate the excellent results it has had in the consumer sector. We know that by entering the new pharmacy channel, DIPO has formed a team with great experience in the business and that gives us the confidence to put our products in their hands”.
Nestlé also entrusted DIPO Farmacéutica with the distribution of its NAN infant formulas for the pharmaceutical channel.
DIPO Farmacéutica has been operating since last January and has regional infrastructure in San José, Guanacaste, San Carlos, Pérez Zeledón and Guápiles, which allows it to provide an agile service throughout the country. It also has modern computer systems that allow it to analyze the behavior of sales and inventories, information that it makes available to its commercial partners.
Rodolfo Leitón, Commercial Director of DIPO, said: “Our main objective is to offer pharmacies throughout the country quality products at competitive prices and with the best service. The incorporation of new suppliers to DIPO Farmacéutica strengthens our assortment and allows us to better meet the needs of our customers, who are pleased with our fast delivery service”.
DIPO Farmacéutica is managed by a group of professionals with extensive knowledge of the market and first-hand knowledge of the pharmaceutical business and its requirements.
The pharmaceutical market represents around US$260 million annually for the country, according to IMS Intelligence Applied. Each Costa Rican consumes on average during 12 months, the equivalent of $65, about ¢40 thousand; that is, a family of five members spends approximately ¢200 thousand in this same period to purchase pharmaceuticals.
