On a personal note, let me be optimistic. I think the Romería will go all the way to Oro, because not only was a legitimate social phenomenon created with the idea, but also the case was masterfully written and produced. I think Jotabeqú is going to knock it out of the ballpark for the first time at Cannes, confirming that they are a vital force. And for their part, when a jury makes a work a finalist three times, as Christian Caldwell has experienced before, it’s because there’s a Lion or Lions coming for JWT, who I anticipate will add to their herd of 6 to date. (Am I right with the math?)
So, Costa Rica is one step away from repeating for the third consecutive time as a Lion-winning country in Cannes. Quite a feat and a confirmation.
