The one that costs the most is the first one. That is what they say about the first million, the first homerun, the first divorce and so much more. Then the others are easier, they come and multiply, as has happened in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, for example, Chile and Peru. What we did not expect was that two more would arrive in a matter of minutes!
Young creatives light up when they see it close, both to participate in the Young Lions and to compete for the big prizes. We participants learn what the opportunities are, where to look for them and how to present them. Skill and mischief combine to add talent, without which there is nothing to try, and in Nelka’s case, humor certainly played an important role, because not only did the judges laugh but, I say this as a witness, in the Grand Auditorium there was laughter and smiles accompanied by applause.
The winning case won wherever it participated and for this reason, it is not surprising that it arrived at Cannes and won three times, as it was well entered in an intelligent selection of categories. And of course, as they demonstrated to us on their own initiative at the ASCAP board meeting, the case was carefully constructed to fully comply with all the requirements of the regulations in Cannes, so they reiterated its full legitimacy.
On this subject, by the way, if anyone has doubts or would like an explanation to the rumors and slander, to the usual serruchapisos and the boresome jokes, call directly to JWT Costa Rica, who will gladly present all the necessary documentation, just as they did in ASCAP.
However, in defense of ASCAP and our country, I can say that this case has the normal accepted rules of participation and that it does not seem to conflict with the regulations.
